Surfing

Local beaches offer some of the best surfing in the country.  Excellent surf schools are based in and around Bude which also boasts the oldest surf shop in Europe.

There is a variety of local circular walks taking in countryside and coast. Try the invigorating walk from the farm through a wooded valley, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, to the South West Coast Path and enjoy the dramatic views of the Heritage Coastline. For the more adventurous Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodmin Moor are equidistant.

The Big Sheep and Milky Way both on the A39 north before Bideford are great hits with children. Bradworthy Transport Museum is close by Tamar Lakes.

Local Pubs

We have a variety of local pubs. Of particular mention are; The Bush at Crosstown, The Old Smithy at Welcombe, The New Inn at Kilkhampton and The Tree Inn at Stratton. All are family friendly and provide good home-cooked food. They provide their own old world charm and are equally good for a quiet drink.
