Half a Dozen Chicks
Our four ex-battery chickens seem to have given up laying at the moment. It could be the time of year or maybe they are all past their prime at almost three years old. We therefore decided we needed some new blood in the hen house. We arrived too late for the poultry bidding at Holsworthy but came away with a clutch of chicks in a tiny shoe box which had not been sold....two Wellsummers and four Rhode Island Reds. We bought them as hatched so have no idea how many are male and female. Just hoping that they're not all cockerels!!!
