A Close Shave!!

Jack, Charlie, Bill and the lovely Bella were unceremoniously bundled into a trailer and carted off to our neighbour John Vanstone's farm across the valley.  Professional shearers had set up shop and were shearing John's flock.  Their wool was so thick we could only get two in the trailer at a time on the way to John's so had to make two trips.  Once they were sheared we got all four in on the way back! ...

Easter Lambs the story continues....

April 2nd two day old lambs came to West Woolley Farm.  They were both triplets and needed bottle feeding. The lambs are growing!  We keep them in a pen on the lawn during the day but back into the Stable overnight as they are too small to fend off a hungry fox. We have called them Sam and Sally. They are still a bit confused as to who their mother is and where their milk comes from - much to the confusion of Toby!! ...

Easter Lambs

Two new baby lambs have arrived for Easter. Born on 1st April Annie bought over two lambs on Good Friday, just 24 hours old! A boy and a girl.  These pictures are taken on 3rd April so they are just 48 hours old.  They have different mothers and each come from families of triplets. Feeding every four hours for the first week, then we should be able to leave them over night and get some sleep ourselves. Feeli ...

Lambs

Every year we take in a couple of orphan lambs or a triplet to bottle feed some time in mid March in time for Easter. These were our first two from a neighbouring farm.  They were the third of triplets and as a ewe can only feed two at a time they were getting very small and needed to be bottle fed four times a day.  Sadly one did not feed very well and did not make it.  Another neighbouring farm had a ewe with mas ...
